Your luxury holiday to Egypt would never be complete without a tour to the country’s infamous Giza Plateau, home to the ancient necropolis which is best know, for its three huge pyramids and the massive Sphinx. These three imposing pyramids are typically referred to as the Great Pyramids of Giza. Besides these three pyramids, you will also be visiting the iconic Sphinx and the Valley Temple while you are at the site. The Giza necropolis is today one of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World, and it is Egypt’s most famous and most visited historical monument. The site is also home to a relatively small museum called the Solar Boat Museum. Tickets for the museum are not included in our 13-day Egypt Luxury package, but they can be purchased at the site. If you will like to go in and explore the museum, simply let your tour guide know and he will be happy to assist. After an amazing morning at the pyramids, you will be taken for a delicious lunch at a amazing restaurant, and then after you have finished eating, you will make your way to the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, also known as the Egyptian Museum. This museum really is unlike any museum you have seen before, with more than 120,000 artifacts on display at any given time. In addition to all the regular artifacts which document the pre-dynastic era, the Pharaonic era, and the Greco- Roman period in Egypt, the museum is also home to two very unique and fascinating rooms: the Treasures Room and the Mummies Room. The Treasures Room has been reserved for displaying virtually all of the artifacts and treasures which were recovered from the tomb of King Tutankhamen when it was discovered completely sealed and intact in the early 20th century. While most of the recovered artifacts are on display in the Treasures Room, Tutankhamen’s mummy remains inside his tomb at Valley of the Kings on Luxor’s West Bank which you will be visiting as part of your Nile cruise. Our 13-Day Egypt Luxury Holiday package includes entry to the Treasures Room at the museum, but not to the Mummies Room. Inside the Mummies Room, visitors can view real mummies which are housed in special climate-controlled displays that help to prevent further deterioration. Tickets for the Mummies Room can be purchased in person at the museum. Finally, after a long and thoroughly enjoyable day, your guide and your driver will transfer you back to your hotel. Begins once again with a superb breakfast at your hotel, and then at the time which was confirmed with you, your guide and driver will fetch you from the hotel, and your sightseeing tour will begin. Your first stop today will be at a vast and imposing Saladin Citadel where you will also be taken to see the magnificent Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque. This mosque was built mostly in a Turkish style and as a result, it is in fact quite similar to the famous Blue Mosque in Istanbul. This mosque is of extreme religious significance, but despite this, it is still open to visitors, including non-Muslims. In addition to the mosque, the Citadel is also home to a number of other interesting venues, including a Police Museum, an Army Museum, both of which are worth a short visit. After your tour of the Citadel, you will then make your way to Cairo’s Christian heritage area, an area known as Coptic Cairo. While here, you will visit a few different sites, including the famous Hanging Church of Cairo with its long and fascinating history. Your last stop for the day will be at one of Cairo’s most endearing and most charismatic sites, the centuries-old Khan El-Khalili Bazaar where traders have been trading their wares ever since the 14th century. While there is nothing luxurious about this market, your luxury holiday in Egypt simply wouldn’t be complete without having the opportunity to explore and shop at this site where you can more or less buy anything and everything. Once you have finished at Khan El-Khalili Bazaar, your guide and driver will once again transfer you back to your hotel where you will be able to enjoy another good night’s rest before you fly to Aswan in the morning for your luxury Nile River cruise. Enjoy a good delicious breakfast at your hotel, and then at the time which was confirmed with you, you will have to check-out so that we can get you to the airport in time for your short flight to Aswan. On arrival at Aswan Airport, another one of our tour managers will be standing by to meet you and assist you in any way he can, and he will then escort you to Aswan Port in a nice modern air-conditioned vehicle. On arrival at Aswan Port, you will board a 5-Star Nile River cruise ship, a luxury river cruiser featuring a wide variety of world-class amenities, much the same as you would expect to find at any good 5-Star hotel. At lunchtime you will enjoy a delicious onboard meal, and then you will have a few hours to settle in and to relax before disembarking at around 16h00 for a visit to the Nubian Museum by motor boat. This will only be a short excursion, so you should arrive back at the cruise ship at about 17h00, after which you will once again have some time for yourself. At 19h00 there will be a short cocktail reception party to welcome you on board the cruise, and then at 19h30 the crew will begin serving dinner in the vessel’s beautifully decorated dining area. Today, the cruise ship will leave Aswan early in the morning, and it will cruise towards Kom Ombo. This will allow you enjoy a very leisurely onboard breakfast, followed by an unforgettable excursion at Kom Ombo to see the Temple of Sobek. This is essentially a twin-temple complex that was built and devoted to two different gods: Sobek the crocodile god and Haeroris the falcon-headed god. As with all our tours, you will have an English speaking tour guide with you and your small group to explain the history of this site, and to answer any questions you might have. Next, you will return to the ship, and it will then cruise back to Aswan where you will have some free time before lunch which is typically served at 13h00. After lunch, you will be disembarking again, this time to visit two wonderful attractions in Aswan. First you will be taken to see the Aswan High Dam, and then you will visit Philae Temple which is a particularly fascinating ancient temple, with a history to match. It is also worth noting that the entire complex was originally at a different location. It had to be moved to higher ground (its current location) in order to save it from the rising waters of Lake Nasser that resulted from the building of the Aswan High Dam. Your Aswan tour typically lasts for about 3 hours, after which you will return to the ship where you will have some free time for yourself. At about 19h00, there will be another short cocktail reception party, followed by dinner at around 19h30. Tonight you will once again be sleeping on the water at Aswan, relax and prepare for the next day. Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Begin with a mouthwatering breakfast on the ship while t is sailing to Edfu. Once you have had your breakfast, the rest of the morning will be yours to enjoy as you wish to have fun and do whatever you want feel free, with lunch being served at 13h00. Enjoy your lunch, and then you and the other members of your small group will disembark together, and you will be taken to see Edfu’s Temple of Horus. This temple was buried beneath the sand for approximately 2,000 years, and it is because of this that it has been preserved so nicely. Not only is it the best-preserved temple of the Ancient World, but It is also one of the largest temples of the ancient world, and a trip to this site is a trip you probably won’t forget in a hurry. Building work at the temple began in 237 BC, and records indicate that it took 25 years to build. Following your visit to this temple, you will return to your cruise ship, and at around 15h00 it will set sail for Esna where you will enjoy another delicious dinner and a good night’s sleep in your cabin on the quiet waters of the majestic Nile River. Today your cruise ship will make an early departure from Esna (06h00) and you will be able to enjoy a lovely leisurely breakfast while you are sailing to Luxor. You will once again have the morning to yourself, and then at 12h30 a good lunch will be served, and this will be followed by an excursion that will see you visiting the ancient Karnak temple complex and the lovely Luxor Museum that you'll be amazed by its greatness. After visiting these two sites, you will return to your cruise ship, and you will have some free leisure time, with another fine dinner once again being served on board the vessel at around 19h30. The eighth day is going to be another day which you will never forget. First, enjoy a nice wholesome breakfast, and then you will be leaving the ship for a tour of Luxor’s West Bank. Your first visit today will be to Valley of the Kings, an ancient royal necropolis consisting of more than 60 tombs that were constructed for different pharaohs; some of their family members and some privileged nobles. This is also the site where Tutankhamen’s tomb was discovered in 1922 by Howard Carter. Medinet Habu Temple will be your next stop, and it will probably be one of your favorite stops because it well and truly is a magnificent site. Here you will find more than 7,000 square meters of wall reliefs which have provided an incredible amount of insight with regard to ancient Egyptian history. Your last stop for the day will be at the Colossi of Memnon, a name given to two towering stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III. After your tour ends, you will make your way back to the ship, and it will begin cruising to Qena, with a delicious lunch being served along the way. From here, you will board your flight back to Cairo where your tour manager will be standing by to meet you, and to escort you to the airport’s International Departures Terminal. Sadly, your magnificent package has now come to an end, and it will soon be time for you to board your flight back home.
