How long do you need to Stay in Egypt?

First of all, Egypt is a very beautiful country that has many historical sites and activities to do any time during the year, and to be able to visit Egypt 100% you might take a month or even more! But this is not what we are looking for here. According to the inquiries that we get considering this question, I can assume that you either are already Travelling in the region, say you're coming from Turkey, Jordan, etc. Or you're flying overseas from North America, Europe, etc. to visit our beloved Egypt. So let me tell you briefly what is the best options for the previous 2 cases:

First of all, let's talk if you're already traveling in the Region;

In that case, you would need from 2 to 4 days to be able to cover the largest number of sites you can explore during your visit and still rest and enjoy your time in the land of magic.

On your first day, my recommendation for you will be Cairo ( The immortal city as we call it here and of course Egypt's current Capital city). Cairo has many interesting places and activities to do and will certainly be worth it, for example; You have the most important site in the Whole of Egypt; The Giza Pyramids ( Including the three Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, and the Valley Temple).

In the Giza necropolis, you will be able to visit the only lasting wonder of the ancient world ( The Great Pyramid of Giza) and take amazing touristic photos with it at the Panorama, you can also ride horses or Camels and enjoy your time there. In addition to the Giza Pyramids, there's the Egyptian museum in El Tahrir square; Take a ride in Cairo streets and go downtown in Egypt and visit the world's largest museum that holds thousands of artifacts and antiquities that features the ancient Egyptian civilization . In the museum; you will be able to visit Tut and Amun's golden mask and his mind-blowing treasures!

After you finish your visit to the museum you can wander around and walk in Cairo streets, eat Koshari ( a very famous Egyptian street dish), Or you can head to Khan El Khalili bazaar and enjoy a splendid shopping experience there. Last but not least end your first day with the Sound& Light show, absolutely a favorite and worth it; It is held at Night in front of the Giza Pyramids with Sound effects and Light presentation of Egyptian history, you will love it!

And that would be your first day out of your 2 to 4 days visit to Egypt.

On the second day, I would recommend going to Islamic and Coptic Cairo as well as the National Museum of Civilization; It's a new museum here that is designed to take you on a tour around Egypt's history, there you will see many interesting artifacts and most importantly the Royal mummies which were paraded in the Royal mummies' Parade in April ,3,2021. If you're going to boost your visit up to another 2 days then definitely head to Hurghada, Red sea, or Sharm El Sheikh; both are located in Sinai and there you can relax on the beach and do many water activities.

Second of all, let's talk if you're flying overseas from your Home town to Egypt;

In that case, you certainly don't want to travel all this long and not experience Egypt as you should, So I would recommend for you to pick 7 days and 6nights tour or even more, It all depends on your budget of course.

Start with Cairo ( The Giza Pyramids, Egyptian museum, Sound & Light show, Islamic & Coptic Cairo, National museum of civilization) and you can also add Memphis Saqqara; Egypt's ancient Capital located about 30km south of modern-day Cairo and it was a burial place since 3,500 years ago there you can visit the first step pyramid of Djoser and many other interesting sites. In addition to all of that, you can always add Khan el Khalili bazaar and El Muez street. This literally will be great for your first 2 days in Egypt.

On your 3rd,4th, and 5thday I will recommend for you to pick either the sleeping train or a domestic Flight ( price rate depends on the booking date )and travel South to the world's largest open-air museum Luxor & Aswan, and If you are visiting Egypt, this place is a must-visit! Because it's just incredible.

Imagine cruising down the River Nile! just like ancient Egyptians used to do on board a 5* luxury Nile cruise and explore there on both of the River banks ( The East & The West) numerous temples and historical sites that you will never see like them in the whole world! You can visit there El Karnak Temple, Valley of Kings and Queens, Hatshepsut Temple, Luxor Temple, Phiale Temple, the Unfinished Obelisk, and much more. There also make sure to visit Abu Simbel temple; It's a very interesting site that goes back to Kings Ramses II, the great Abu Simbel temple is also called The Sun Temple of Ramses II. The Temple of Queen Nefertari is also Called the Temple of Hathor who was the wife of the Sun God so in a symbolic way.

After you finish Luxor & Aswan Fly again or drive to either Hurghada or Sharm El Sheikh, as I mentioned above they are both located in the Red sea and will be perfect after such an adventure to just relax by the beach and do absolutely nothing than enjoy yourself in the Red sea greenish-blue water. Also there you can do many water activities such as; snorkeling, diving, Kite surfing, and others. If you still have time and energy complete your vacation in Egypt and pick either Siwa oasis or El Fayoum, I mean you're in Egypt how can you not visit any of its amazing and breathtaking natural oasises???

You will find them in the western desert boost your trip to another 2 or 3 days and enjoy another color of the land of magic, another adventure, and an everlasting experience.

If you're not so into oasises and deserts then I recommend Alexandria; the pearl of the Mediterranean sea. It's an amazing city in Egypt that was built by Alexander the great post his conquest of Egypt and has many interesting sites to visit there such as; Popmay's Pillars, Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, Alexandria's library, Roman theatre, Montaza Palace, and Qaitbay fortress. And If you're a fish lover, then make sure to order there at a local restaurant the best fish you can eat in Egypt.

I can talk for days about the activities you can do in Egypt and the sites you can visit because it is a very colorful country that has many histories and civilizations that have passed by it; So If you would like for reference; There's still the White and black desert tour, Marsa Alam city on the Red Sea, Ras Sudr on the Red sea If you hit Hurghada there's also El Gouna a very luxurious and cool place to visit when you're there.
